The ever-growing ONE Musicfest lived up to ALL the hype yet again...
Yes this blog entry was VERY delayed, but there has been SO much going on in this great city! Soooo...Saturday, September 13th - that date will be remembered as the day that REAL music took front stage at the 5th annual ONE Musicfest. This year's event was the largest yet...to the extent that it was held at Aaron's Lakewood Amphitheatre. Two live stages, one DJ stage, an Art Village - SO much to take in! So let's begin...
I entered the gates at approximately 12:30 Saturday afternoon, and immediately headed over to the Art Village where I was able to witness several works of art in progress. It is always amazing for me to see how many truly talented visual artists we have in Atlanta.
...and then the music began. Cody ChestnuTT was 1st up to bat, and he reminded everyone what SOUL music is all about with an energized and inspirational performance.
Next up - Bilal. This cat COMMANDS the stage, as he ripped through stellar set...
Next up was vocal powerhouse Alice Smith - another magnificent performance, and we were just getting started...
...and then Amel Larrieux took the stage to provide more ear candy...
...which brings us to Jhene Aiko - not only did she please the crowd with HER hits, but Jhene also performed an awesome cover of Tupac's "Keep Ya Head Up".
By this time the crowd was MORE than ready for the final two acts of ONE Musicfest: Kendrick Lamar...
...and none other than Nas
Can't wait until ONE Musicfest 2015! Coming soon...images from OutkastATLast...
