A nice mix of work and play...a much needed mini-vacation in Miami, an ongoing project (Naturally You), and the usual event coverage, photo sessions, and random fine art captures here and there. Let's start with Miami:
The annual WMC (Winter Music Conference) held in sunny South Beach - a little over a week of great music, good vibes, networking, and R & R. Unlike previous years, I did not capture as many party/event images...although I did have to get a few of one of my new favorite DJs; DJ Helen Ting out of Hong Kong:
Those who know me well know that I am a House Music aficionado; especially when it comes to the fusion of House and Afrobeat
- (/ˈafrōˌbēt/ noun 1. a style of popular music incorporating elements of African music and jazz, soul, and funk.)
DJ Helen Ting had everyone in the vicinity in euphoria with her musical selection, and also had passers-by (this was an outdoor event) held hostage by the sounds emanating from the speakers...but i digress. Back to Miami as a whole:
We met some interesting folks; one of which was a young man who happened to be riding his bike down the street with two lemurs as passengers. When we caught up to him, he was telling two young lades how he came across them. The lemur pictured above (in the foreground) was a rescue. He paid medical costs for this lemur to have cataract surgery, and the lemur was gifted to him as a result. Great ending to a good story...then...
...on to Key Biscayne for a little beach action (next visit I WILL drive the bridge to Key West)...
and then make a few more friends...
Pelicans...who knew they were so "friendly"? As I am taking shots, this guy is edging closer. Then I take a break and look around me...I am pretty much surrounded by Pelicans. Turns out they are expecting me to produce a nice snack for them in exchange for their time in front of the camera... ...now for a little contest...
The first 5 people to contact me via this site's Contact tab with the correct answer to what is pictured above will receive 20% off their next photo session (minimum of 1 hour).
